Froggy Valentine

Yesterday when I was browsing my blog list I just fell in love with this froggy and had to recreate it. I found it on Sherri's blog Love, Laughter, and Creations. You can find the details how to make Mr. Froggy over there. If you haven't visited her blog check it out. She is so talented and has lots of inspiration over there.

On the frog I did ink around everything but the eyes. I used Plantin Schoolbook for the frog. The heart is cut at 1/2 inch. For the frogs mouth I used a peachy keen stamp for the frog on the New Arrival cartridge.

The card is a standard A2 card but I cut the base at 4.25" by 11" and folded it in half. The frog paper is from K & Company. I cut the strip of frog paper at 1.25" by 4.25" and inked around it.

The pink square is cut at 3.5" by 3.5". I ran the pink piece through the cuttlebug with the swiss dot folder and inked the edges. Then I matted it with green paper.

I have entered this card in the Practical Scrappers Embossing Challenge.

Room Signs

Well one more gift from this weekend. I made room signs for my two nephews. I found the base of the signs at the Dollar Tree. I painted them to match their taste.

I used Plantin Schoolbook for the letters. I typed their first names in the cricut and used the fit to length button to 5" so the cricut could calculate what size the letters should be. I cut the letter and then a shadow for the letters

Then on my younger nephew I cut the laying Pluto on the Mickey and Friends cartridge at 2.5" For the older nephew I just printed a logo from the net that he likes.

I used mod podge to adhere the letters and graphic/pluto to the boards. I then gave it two coats of mod podge to seal it.

Altered Birdhouse

We had our final Christmas over the weekend and I made my FIL and my husbands grandfather a birdhouse with pictures of my kids. I got this idea from the girls at Holidays with the Cricut. They give great instructions on how to make this.

I bought the birdhouses at the Dollar Tree but you could find them at Micahel's also. I painted them white and then went to my scrap box to find paper.

I used the following cricut cartridges: Storybook and Accent Essentials.

For the piece around the bird hole I used an accent from the Accent Essentials cartridge which can be found on page 33. I cut it at 1.5" on one birdhouse and 1.75" on the other birdhouse.

The piece around the peg is from the Storybook cartridge. It is the frame on page 58. I cut it at 1" for both birdhouses.

Then for the trim on the roof I used the exclamation point on the Storybook cartridge which can be found on 62. I cut it at 3.5" for one birdhouse and 4" for the other birdhouse.

I painted the birdhouse white before I decoupage the picture and paper to the birdhouse. I used two wallet size pictures for the roof of the birdhouse and a 4x6 picture for the back. I did not get the picture on the back cut quite right but my youngest is so cute (well all my kids are cute) it makes up for it :)

Here are some more pictures of the birdhouses.

Butterfly Card

Here is a card I made for a friend to cheer her up. The Pink Stamper posted a challenge to make something using scraps and Just Buggin' challenge #18 is to use the shadow function.

I used the butterfly from the Mickey and Friends cartridge which can be found on page 123. I cut it at 4". I ran the green layer piece through the cuttle bug with the swiss dot folder.

I then cut the blue background at 5.25" by 4" and ran the background paper through the cuttle bug using the tiny dots folder.

I pop dotted the butterfly. I used white ribbon from walmart. The sentiment is from a pack of Micheal's dollar stamps.
